EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.””
Mark 10:51 NKJV
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM THE LORD JESUS?
We all know what it's like to go around in circles. You pray to get out of a financial crisis, only to be immediately confronted with another. You are healed of one illness, only to be struck by another.
Of course, you do all you can. You pray, you exercise your faith, but you always fall back into the same problems, over and over again, or different problems altogether. Why? Because, too often, you don't know what to ask for in prayer, and above all, you are ignorant of your identity and all the benefits you have in Christ.
Read Mark 10:46-53. The blind man Bartimaeus was sitting by the roadside begging, and he knew when the Son of David would come and when Jesus was passing by. When he learned that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Then he threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus. Jesus said to him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man replied, "I want to see again." And Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Immediately, he regained his sight and followed Jesus on his way.
I would like you to take a moment to reflect. In light of what the Bible says, how many needs did Bartimaeus have? Just one? No! He wasn't only blind; he was also a beggar. He certainly had many problems, and all of them were legitimate needs in his eyes. But what he truly needed was to see. If he could regain his sight, everything else would be in order.
He was aware of this. When Jesus said to him, “Bartimaeus, what do you want me to do for you?” He knew exactly what to ask for, and he received it.
Today, in the New Testament, Jesus, through his death and resurrection, has qualified you to receive all the blessings of the Father (Ephesians 1:3). You simply need to recognize your identity in Christ and act accordingly. The question is: Do you truly know what to ask for?
Think about it, pray about it, and allow the Lord Jesus to open your eyes so you can see what your true need is. If you do, your prayer life will reach a whole new level with immediate results. You will no longer waste time going in circles.
Jesus’ beloved !
AMEN & AMEN 🙏🏾🙏🏾!!
