*THE NEW BIRTH* 👶🏽

To be born again. Do you know what Jesus was referring to by using this sentence? HE used the language of the covenant and explained to Nicodemus what it means to have a covenant with God. Imagine a baby, a new baby born to a single mother. No one knows who his father is and he belongs to no one. Now, think of the best family you can imagine: a family that loves God and whose father has a good job; they are financially blessed, generous but unable to have children. Now they take care of this abandoned baby, shortly after adopting him.

This child now has a new birth, he has new parents. Through adoption, he became their heir, not by his own merits. These parents did not say: "Look at this child. We are really impressed with everything he has done for us. He certainly deserve our love and respect." No, it's a baby! He couldn't do anything to deserve this new life. The love that was in the heart of this man and his wife pushed them to grant grace to this child.

This is what Jesus was talking about when he said: "You must be born again." HE spoke of grace, of a new relationship based on the favor of God, a new family. In the time of Jesus, an adopted child enjoyed the same rights and privileges as a real son. Beloved you and I are like this baby. We have nothing to provide. Everything is free. But like this baby, we must agree to submit to the family's diet. Of course you were used to the voice of the one who carried you in her womb and certainly you heard the bad words said against you.

However, you have a new identity and you must learn day after day to "deprogram yourself from the past" and reprogram yourself to the love and provision of your new family. This process was not available for Nicodemus because Jesus was not yet dead and resurrected, but for you and me we have this benefit through the renewal of our mind . Discover what it means to be a child of the Almighty God, redeemed by blood, and having a big brother like Jesus. Find out what it means "to be born again"!
