EXHORTATION through THE BOOK OF LIFE

Scripture to ponder on:

“because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬ ‭ASV‬‬

THE FREE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Beloved, understanding the purpose of the law is essential for your relationship with God. The law was given so that you might come to the knowledge of sin and recognize your need for a Savior. Therefore, the law was given to bring humanity to its fullest extent, so that in its despair, it might see its need for Jesus.

No one is made righteous by the law. Because of the law, no one can claim to be without sin, for without the law, there would be no sin (Romans 4:15). For example, if there were no speed limits on the road, the police could not stop you for a speeding ticket.

God's promise predates the law. The law was not designed to make you godly, but to expose your ungodliness. What the devil wants to do is keep the law hanging over your head, constantly reminding you how unworthy you are of God's blessings, so that you feel perpetually condemned and guilty. Also known as the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10), he uses cunning, accusations, and lies to keep you trapped in a cycle of defeat.

Here are some of his common attacks: You call yourself a Christian? You're a hypocrite! Forget about prayer. God will never listen to your prayers. Look at your life. How dare you enter the church... My friend, these are lies! But through Jesus Christ, you are no longer under the condemnation of the law. The devil has been disarmed by the power of the cross (Colossians 2:15). Jesus, who knew no sin, was condemned in your place on the cross. Through Jesus Christ, you are now made righteous apart from the works of the law.

So, when you hear the accuser's voice condemning you, remember that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). Declare it aloud: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Now, open your Bible and claim every promise you find concerning the righteous. Thank the Lord for this provision, and then receive it into your life in the name of Jesus!

Jesus beloved.
