Suis necessary
EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“There is need of only one or but a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion [that which is to her advantage], which shall not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:42 AMPC
*CHOSE WHAT IS NECESSARY*2️⃣
Although this story was written centuries ago, the contrast between Mary and Martha still resonates today with the hectic pace, pressures, and priorities that dictate our daily lives. You see, Mary wasn't concerned about the house or the guests. She simply knew that a much more important event was taking place. When Mary chose to sit at His feet to listen to His words, she knew that the King of kings was in her living room, and she wasn't about to miss Him.
If Jesus himself told you, “There’s only one thing that truly matters. I want you to choose.” How would you react? What would you say? Let’s be clear: if we lack this one thing, we lack everything. When the Lord Jesus tells you that choosing one thing is necessary, who do you think it’s truly necessary for? It’s not for Him. It’s necessary for you. It’s necessary for me. It’s necessary for our soul, our peace, our strength.
Sometimes we think that if we don’t spend time with the Lord, He will feel neglected. But the truth is, we’re the ones who lose out. Our hearts dry up, our minds become burdened, our bodies endure stress we weren’t built to bear.
So each day, before you take on the weight of your responsibilities, let Jesus carry you. Only one thing is necessary each day. And when you choose Jesus, you choose "the good part," and Jesus Himself says that this good part will never be taken from you.
So today, before the world captures your attention, entrust it to our Lord Jesus. Choose the good part. And let Him fill you with a joy, a peace, and a strength that nothing and no one can take from you.
