The Cross and your Identity
EXHORTATION through the BOOK of LIFE
The Work of the Cross and Our Identity as Sons
📖 Verse to Meditate On
“by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.” — Ephesians 2:15-16 (NKJV)
👑 CHILD OF GOD, Take Hold of Your Inheritance!
Beloved, today's verse highlights the marvelous work of reconciliation accomplished between you and God. Give the Spirit of God the opportunity today to make you a living testimony of His love!
The Word declares with absolute assurance that you are a child of God:
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” — 1 John 3:1 (Take a moment to meditate on this reality!)
1. Sons and Not Slaves
The Christian life you have received is the direct fruit of the finished work of Jesus Christ. Contrary to what religion teaches, God did not sacrifice His beloved Son to harvest mere slaves, but to bring forth a family of kings and priests unto Himself (Revelation 1:6). This position grants you immense privileges founded upon His grace and love.
2. From Coverage to Redemption
This unconditional love was manifested right from the beginning: when Adam and Eve sinned, God showed them grace by covering their nakedness (Genesis 3:21). But He went even further. Despite our sinful nature inherited from Adam, He delivered His only begotten Son in our place to rescue us from the wrath to come and bring us back home (1 Thessalonians 1:10, 2 Corinthians 5:21).
3. Cease Relying on Your Own Efforts
Like Adam, who vainly tried to hide and cover himself by his own means (Genesis 3:7), we sometimes try to please God through our own strength.
Today, the call of the Spirit is clear: stop operating by your own efforts. Instead, receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness (Romans 5:17). Learn to reign in this life with the assurance that, through Christ, all things belong to you and are at your disposal.
Jesus’ beloved!
AMEN & AMEN 🙏🏾 🙏🏾 ! !
