Let the fountain flow
EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.””
John 4:14 NKJV
LET THE FOUNTAIN FLOW
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control are powerful forces that the Bible calls the fruits of the Spirit. They are character traits of God Himself, and when the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you, He brings them with Him so that they become your character traits as well.
They are meant to grow and overflow within you, continuing like a powerful current, constantly protecting and cleansing you from the inside out.
Have you ever noticed that you can't throw anything into the opening of a gushing fountain? As it pours forth its water, its own jet protects it and keeps it pure from any impurity coming from the outside. Likewise, the spiritual fountain within you works in the same way. When you allow the forces of love, joy, peace, kindness, and all the other virtues to flow through you, the devil cannot introduce any impurity into you.
How can you let the Spirit flow continuously through you? You fill your heart so completely with the Word of God that the forces of eternal life begin to overflow. Just a little at first, then more and more strongly and higher and higher. Also through praying in tongues.
Choose to let the current of these forces flow from the fountain of your heart. Refuse to let sin and your carnal desires stop the flow. You have within you a fountain filled with the invincible forces of LIFE, and it is ready to flow. Let it flow!
