EXHORTATION through the BOOK of LIFE
Scripture to ponder on :
“and now I exhort you to be of good cheer, for there shall be no loss of life among you — but of the ship;”
Acts 27:22 YLT98
* BE OF GOOD CHEER , TRUST GOD* ✨
What do you do when you are in a really dangerous situation? One afternoon, while I was shouting to God about something, HE interrupted me and said: Samuel, do you know that I don't hear my children's cry when they are in despair? "What?" - I replied ". HE said: I hear a sinner's cry of despair because that's all he can do, cry. But once you are born again, son, you should scream by faith. I hear the cry of faith.
What does it mean to shout by faith? It is to call things that are not as if they were already existing (Romans 4:17). This is what the Bible means when it says: "[...] Let the weak say: I am strong" (John 3:10). The apostle Paul knew how to use the cry of faith. That is why, in Acts 27, he urged the men on the ship that was adrift to take courage. He told them to start acting by faith. Can't you imagine what these sailors thought when he said that? Listen to this stupid preacher. We sin and he says take heart. We threw everything we have overboard and he says take heart.
You can feel like those sailors right now. You may feel like your ship is sinking. You may want to scream in despair. But don't do it. Instead, do what Paul said and be in a good mood. Shout to God with faith and say, "Lord, I will not panic. I will not despair. I will rejoice because Your Word says that You will deliver me from this situation" (Psalm 34:19 ).
Then start to be happy. It may require more determination than anything you've done before, but God will give you the strength to do it. He will give you the power to be joyful in the midst of the darkest darkness that the devil can raise. Instead of screaming in despair, adopt an attitude of faith. Sing, rejoice and praise God for your deliverance. Be in a good mood and you can be sure that God will make you go through the storm completely .
Jesus’ beloved !
