EXHORTATION through the BOOK of LIFE
Scripture to ponder on :
“Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the devil, as a roaring lion, doth walk about, seeking whom he may swallow up,”
1 Peter 5:8 YLT98
BE NOT AFRAID OF THE ROAR OF THE TOOTHLESS LION!
Isn't it interesting in the passage above that the devil must look for those he can devour? This means that he cannot devour everyone. Don't give him your authority and become among those he can devour! Also, have you noticed that he walks around like, "a roaring lion"? I asked the Lord why the devil prowls like a roaring lion and not like another creature. He led me to Proverbs 19:12, which says: "The king's anger is like the roar of a lion". The devil is an impostor and accuser who prowls like a roaring lion because he imitates the King of Kings, our Lord Jesus, the true Lion of Judah. He wants you to think that our King is full of anger and rage against you. He comes to you roaring with the voice of condemnation, accusation and shame.
Satan wants you to accept that you have let God down, and that HE is not only disappointed in you, but also downright furious with you. Now, if you believe this about God, will you take refuge under the shelter of His wings? Will you take your legitimate place of authority, power and strength? Of course not. In fact, you will flee from God!
Christians who are under a cloud of condemnation will not pray Psalm 91, the prayer of protection. They feel unworthy of God's promises and, in fact, wait for God's punishment and judgment. That's exactly where the devil wants you to be. When you flee God, you run straight into the devil's trap. You abdicate your place of authority when you abdicate your place of intimacy with God.
Beloved, you must know this: you are loved. God is not angry with you. In Christ, you can be assured that you are forgiven, loved and righteous (see Eph. 1:7, Rom. 8:37, 2 Cor. 5:21). The Lord Jesus took all your punishment on the cross so that today you can enjoy His undeserved favor on a daily basis. God sees you in Christ, who is completely spotless and blameless.
On the basis of your own actions, you are not entitled to His protection or His provision. But because of what our Lord Jesus did for you on the cross, you can confidently approach His throne of grace (see Heb. 4:16). Because of what HE has done, you are qualified to live in the secret place with the King of Kings, where the false "roaring lion" has no power over you. On the other hand he is terrified by your presence.
Jesus’ beloved !
AMEN & AMEN 🙏🏾🙏🏾!!
