Accept being the lamb
EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.”
Psalms 23:1-2 NKJV
*ACCEPT BEING THE LAMB* 🐑
When you read today’s verse, notice how David wrote this psalm with a personal touch when describing the attributes of our Lord Jesus. He doesn’t say that the Lord is a shepherd, but rather: “[…] my shepherd. He makes me lie down in green pastures! He leads me beside still waters.” He describes all the blessings you have access to as a child of God, as a Christian.
Through His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus redeemed you from death. You have become the property of Jesus Christ, and He has become your shepherd. Sometimes, in the sheepfold, even the most stubborn sheep strays due to distractions and suffers one disaster after another. The same is true in Christianity; some of our brothers and sisters in Christ stray to the point of experiencing failure after failure. But David assures us that with God, he lacks nothing because God provides for his needs.
You can choose a fulfilling and peaceful life if you let Jesus guide you and watch over your well-being. It is Jesus who gives you rest. By doing everything on your own, you risk quickly becoming exhausted. Instead, invite the Lord to show you the times when you are acting on your own and ask Him for rest.
Ask Him to teach you to depend solely on Him.
Do you consider Jesus your shepherd? So, you must first accept becoming a sheep. I'm not saying you have to look like an animal to have Jesus as your shepherd. I'm talking about having a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus. Accept that your shepherd, Jesus, will carry you on His shoulders to bring you back to the fold!
Jesus’ beloved
AMEN & AMEN 🙏🏾🙏🏾!!
