YOUR DUTY IS TO

STRENGTHEN JESUS' VICTORY

When persecution comes, don't sit around whining about it. Don't waste your time feeling sorry for yourself. Despite what you may think, feel, or see, this persecution didn't come because the devil enjoys picking on you. It came because you have become a threat to him. It came because you have put the Word in your heart, and he knows that if he doesn't destroy you, you are going to cause him more trouble than he can handle.

So, rejoice! Heavy persecution means you've become a top-level player. It means the devil takes you so seriously that he's sending his best players to try to take you out of the game. Players who make it to the finals don't look for a way out, do they? They don't say, "Wow, I wish I didn't have to play in this final game. These guys are the biggest and best players in the country." They don't say, "Maybe I'll get sick and won't have to play." No! They relish the opportunity and say, "I've worked my whole life to get here, and now I'm going to prove I'm the best." This is the attitude you must have when the devil challenges you. You must accept this challenge with joy, knowing that you will emerge victorious. After all, your God is sufficient within you to see you through. He never stops and never wonders if He will have enough resources to help you overcome your problems this time. He knows He has already conquered everything the devil throws against you. So, when persecution comes, trust Him and rejoice, knowing that you are part of the winning team. Claim your promise with perseverance.
