EXHORTATION through THE BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Proverbs 18:21 ASV
*TWO TYPES OF FAITH*
Did you know that there are two types of faith? The first type of faith is based on what you have learned through your culture and upbringing. This varies according to circumstances. With this type of faith, you pray secretly and sincerely, and then as soon as you finish, you destroy everything you prayed for within hours by saying the negative in conversations with your friends. And that is how you perpetuate a cycle of failure because your faith is based on a natural and human foundation.
The second type of faith is based on the revelation of God's Word. This is attained only through daily meditation on the Word, in the habit of being anchored in what God has declared to be true, regardless of what your senses report.
Beloved, understand that it is not through the intensity of supplication, but through the consistency of declaration; through the daily, sustained, and deliberate practice of proclaiming what God has said, until His word becomes more important to your inner being than what your senses perceive. Jesus Himself reveals the mechanisms of faith in Mark 11:23: “If anyone says on this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” Saying <=> believing.
In Jesus’ description of how faith works, believing is twice as frequent as affirming. The mountain doesn't move because you believe it will; it moves because you say it will, and that belief is rooted in your faith. But belief is the first step in the sequence. The word is the action. It is what liberates faith from the invisible world to make it visible. It is what gives the Word of God concrete force in the physical world. This is what most churches have neglected over the generations.
So, which category do you fall into?
Jesus’ beloved !
