EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.””
Luke 10:42 NKJV
*THE ONLY THING NECESSARY* 1️⃣
In the Gospels, few things are deemed “necessary” by our Lord Jesus. Yet, when Mary chooses to sit at his feet to listen to his words, he affirms with crystal clarity, “Only one thing is necessary.”
If Jesus himself were to tell you, “There is only one thing that truly matters. Just one. And not only is it necessary, but it is good. I want you to choose it.” How would you react? Would you respond, “Lord, I’m too busy,” or “What about my job?” Or would you say, “Yes, Lord. Nothing is more important than being with You”?
Beloved, I understand the pressures you face. I know how difficult it can be to feel pulled in every direction before you even get out of bed in the morning. Certainly, there are legitimate responsibilities. But as Jesus so kindly pointed out to Martha, they can sometimes blind us to what is truly important.
I believe this is why the Holy Spirit recorded the details of that encounter with Jesus: because it is an invitation the Lord extends to us even today. So today, before the world captures your attention, give it to our Lord Jesus. Choose the better part. And let Him fill you with a joy, a peace, and a strength that nothing and no one can take from you.
