EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 ASV
THE NEW CREATURE
Understanding the new creation you are is vital for your survival in the world. It's like when God created the world; everything came into being before God created Adam and Eve. After the Fall, they received Satan's nature to live according to their own senses and lost their connection with God. They became natural men moving by their senses.
“But the natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor is he able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14
And we see this spiritual blindness even in the Church today, and this has given rise to the term “sinner saved by grace.” This label nullifies your identity and puts you at the mercy of Satan.
The day you received the Lord Jesus into your life, you received the same Spirit as Jesus (Galatians 2:20). The old things remained in the grave: the sinful nature, spiritual death, separation from God, condemnation… all things became new: the new nature, the new life, the new righteousness, the new access to God, a new identity, new abilities, new spiritual authority. All things in you are unique to manifest the glory of God and participate in the establishment of the kingdom of Christ.
Now you have at your disposal the instruments of the Kingdom, which are: the Word of God, faith, confession (declaration), the name of Jesus, and the Blood of the Covenant. Stop trying to live according to your senses from this day forward, for you are no longer part of this world, which is dominated by Satan. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). You can only live according to your inheritance of the Kingdom (Ephesians 1:3). You are righteous before God, and again, “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: ‘Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.’”1 Corinthians 1:30-31
