EXHORTATION according to the BOOK of LIFE
Verse to meditate on:
"Are you so stupid and foolish? Having begun [your new life by faith] with the Spirit, are you now being perfected and reaching spiritual maturity by the flesh [that is, by your own works and efforts to keep the Law]?"
Galatians 3:3 AMP
🕊️🕊️THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GRACE
WORKING TOGETHER👋🏿👋🏽✋
How were you first touched by Jesus? Was it through the law, or was it His grace in your life that touched your heart? We all began our relationship with the Lord because we were touched by His love and grace. Let us continue in that grace.
Paul takes this very seriously. He calls any gospel other than the gospel of grace (God's unmerited favor) a perversion. Attempting to be justified by the works of the Ten Commandments is a perversion of the gospel of Christ. (Gal. 1:6-7)
Paul asked the church in Galatia point-blank, "Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh [self-effort]?" (Gal. 3:2-3).
Paul said to them, "You began by believing in His unmerited favor; why do you now depend on your works? This is foolishness! You should continue in His unmerited favor!" These are strong words from Paul.
Don't start with grace and work your way back to the law. Don't start with the new covenant, only to return to the old covenant! There are those who say they are not justified by the law, but believe they should keep the law for sanctification. My friend, justification and sanctification come from our faith in the finished work of Jesus alone.
When you are established in the covenant of grace, you experience an enormous sense of trust and security in Christ. When your dependence is on His unmerited favor and not on your efforts to get things done, you grow in the revelation of His love for you, and the Holy Spirit will guide you in all your endeavors.
Your duty is to receive His grace and the Daily refreshment of the Holy Spirit, knowing that it is no longer you who live, for you are dead and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3) Think, speak, and act knowing that it is not about you or your works, “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 NKJV ….
Remember, you are on a mission for God on this earth!!!
Jesus’ beloved !
