EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“And Lot lifteth up his eyes, and seeth the whole circuit of the Jordan that it [is] all a watered country (before Jehovah's destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, as Jehovah's garden, as the land of Egypt,) in thy coming toward Zoar,”
Genesis 13:10 YLT98
THE GREAT SACRIFICE #5
Beloved, it is written: “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not satisfy the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16
The danger in the Christian life is unfortunately living according to human wisdom, “For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, on the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:5-6
Abraham lived with his nephew Lot, who lived according to human wisdom, and we know his end.
Today’s verse is taken from the separation of Abram and Lot. In the same chapter it is written, “And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, ‘Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your descendants forever.’” Genesis 13:14-15
And God changed his name and established His covenant with him.
Abraham’s life is that of the Christian today, with the added benefit of the Holy Spirit dwelling within you, to guide you in your inheritance, in His word daily, to establish the kingdom of Christ. “Now, as laborers in this same work, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.” 2 Corinthians 6:1 . “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
Let us pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus, teach me daily communion with the Holy Spirit. Nourish my spirit with Your Word, make Your Word more real to me than fear, pressure, and external trials.
Train me to recognize the One who is greater, who dwells in me, more than the noise of the world.
Strengthen me as I pray in tongues. Teach me to worship in spirit and in truth, not only when life is easy, but also when the pressure is real. I thank You that I do not practice these things to earn Your love. I practice them because I am loved, redeemed, and called to live by the inner man in the name of Jesus. Amen!
Jesus’ beloved !
AMEN & AMEN 🙏🏾🙏🏾!!
