The Greatest one dwells in you
EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“Ye are of God, my little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.”
1 John 4:4 ASV
*CHRIST IN YOU, GREAT AND MIGHTY*
Beloved, there is an evil spirit, called the accuser of the brethren or the devil, who is trying to lead you into defeat. But the Bible clearly tells us that we have One greater than him within us. It is important that you are established in this truth. You do not have to be afraid of the devil, because Jesus, who dwells in you, is greater than the devil in this world. Whatever tactics he uses to deflect you, he will not prevail against you in this battle.
The devil is a defeated enemy. The One within you is greater than any negative thoughts the enemy can throw at you. The One within you is greater than feelings of guilt and inadequacy. The One within you is greater than any accusations leveled against you.
Stand firm on this declaration: “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and no weapon formed against me will prosper. I condemn every tongue that rises against me in judgment” (Isaiah 54:14-17). No weapon formed against you will prosper. The Bible doesn’t say you won’t encounter any challenges or you won’t face any attacks. But it promises that you can be certain they will not succeed against you because you are righteous before God.
Do you know why you can stand firm on this promise today? In the same verse, God continues by declaring, “This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness comes from me” (Isaiah 54:17). This protection is your inheritance. God does not protect you because of your works; your protection is based on the work He has done in your place by taking the punishment you deserve, because of your sins.
Notice that the weapon against you may already have been formed, meaning it may have already been designed, prepared, and intended to destroy you. Do not be afraid. Whatever this weapon or challenge may be, know without a doubt that it will not prevail against you. This is God’s promise to you today: no weapon formed against you will be able to succeed. Not because your behavior is perfect, but because your standing in Christ is perfect, and you must declare it daily.
Hold fast to this declaration: “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and I condemn every tongue that rises against me in judgment” (Isaiah 54:14-17).
