EXHORTATION according to the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on
“who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.”
1 Peter 2:24 ASV
TEMPTATION IS NOT SIN 🤧
Have you ever wondered if Jesus was tempted by illness? If He sensed the beginnings of a sickness circling Him? I think Jesus could have been sick, but He resisted temptation (from sickness) even to the point of shedding His blood.
Jesus was tempted in every way, just as we are. The devil must have tried to make Him bear a sickness, whether through suggestion (thoughts of illness) or through the sick people who surrounded Him. But Jesus took such thoughts captive to the obedience of the Word.
Know that experiencing the symptoms of an illness does not make you sick. Just as the temptation to succumb to sin is not sin itself. Sometimes, this is the devil's way of suggesting that you accept illness. The symptoms tell you that illness is coming. They bring fear and oppression. They push you to arrange your thoughts and say yes to what is happening. Does a cool temperature always mean rain? Of course not!
When you belong to the new covenant, you must reject this trick of the devil. Do not let the feeling of sickness take hold of you, for you are covered with the blood of Jesus and have been uprooted from the kingdom of darkness and planted in the kingdom of light of the Beloved.
On the cross, Jesus bore all our illnesses and infirmities. You are now free from every disease that seeks to afflict you. If symptoms approach and persist, resist them with the Word of God, like Jesus. Ask yourself at that moment how you can demonstrate faith. Subdue the symptoms, for you have received the power to trample them, and to trample on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
Jesus’ beloved !
AMEN & AMEN 🙏🏾🙏🏾!!
