EXHORTATION through the BOOK of LIFE

Scripture to ponder on:

“And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;”

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

_*NATURAL BABY VS SPIRITUAL BABY*_ 🍼

No one is born an adult in this world. We all go through the baby stage. What characterizes a baby? He can't do anything by himself, you have to help him and give him milk. In the same way, a spiritual baby needs to receive milk from the Word of God because he is looking for answers to his life. A (natural) baby knows nothing he is innocent and you have to teach him everything. Thus, the spiritual baby is a fertile ground that needs to be taught and supervised to avoid making mistakes. In the same way that an adult establishes his foundations as a baby, it is the same for the spiritual baby. His spiritual growth is decisive when he is still a baby.

The baby (natural) catches everything he sees and wants to put it in his mouth to ingest it. Similarly, the spiritual baby has difficulty discerning good from bad teachings. Because the spiritual baby thirsts for knowledge. It is often a playground for servants of God who manipulate the Word and thus become the victim of false and idolatrous doctrines. He does not pay attention to what "nourishes" him and easily accepts to follow all the programs and teachings that look very spiritual precisely. However, many may just be religious and poison our minds.

What can also be observed is that the (natural) baby is easily decentralized and weakened or even disturbed. A situation can easily irritate or sadden him. It is the same when the spiritual baby sees his perception of things changed. It lacks Constance and requires a lot of attention. He can thus move from one preaching to another on the simple basis that what he listens to, what he likes (or not), he is easily brainwashed because he first reacts according to his emotions. Yet the basic criteria should be the Word of God.

Finally, the natural baby needs weaning to promote his growth. The signs of withdrawal in the spiritual baby are multiple: he comes out of dependence to begin to feed himself in the light of the Word and under the guidance of the Spirit. This means that he begins to apply this word in his life (Psalm 131:2). It is up to the church to create the conditions for "growth" instead of keeping them in dependence. Some ministers are "exhausted" by spiritual babies who refuse to grow while others always want to be solicited by them to demonstrate that they have "anointing".

Know today that your spiritual growth does not depend on your number of years of conversion. Your growth does not stop at your spiritual withdrawal but it really begins (2 Corinthians 5:17). Without spiritual growth, prayers become ineffective and preaching can no longer feed souls. God does not wish this for any Christian.
