Food for your inner man
EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“the book of this law doth not depart out of thy mouth, and thou hast meditated in it by day and by night, so that thou dost observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then thou dost cause thy way to prosper, and then thou dost act wisely.”
Joshua 1:8 YLT98
FOOD FOR YOUR INNER MAN
After the death of Moses, Joshua was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the people into the promised land. The Lord gave him the plan of execution written in the Book of the Law, instructing him to speak only what was written there and to meditate on its contents night and day. “Every place where you set the sole of your foot I have given you, as I said to Moses. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Joshua 1:3, 5. Joshua’s guarantee was the presence of the Lord with him.
We know that God is Spirit. “The Lord here is the Holy Spirit. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17. In today’s verse, note that the mouth is linked to meditation, comparable to a goat chewing its cud.
So Joshua, having the Book of the Law constantly before him, read it and listened. Then, meditating and pondering what he had read, he received from the Spirit of God, in communion with his own spirit, the plans for each conquest.
Child of God, are you living out your inheritance, which our Lord, who has become for you Wisdom, Justice, Holiness, and Redemption, has paid for you? Go to the Word (your covenant) and find a verse that relates to your situation. Copy it onto a card; then read it aloud so that your ears can hear it. Repeat it at least five times throughout the day and speak in tongues so that the verse is in your mind. Then you will be successful in all your endeavors, like Joshua. You constantly have the Holy Spirit within you, and this will strengthen your inner being, which in turn will take control of your soul and body, and you will see the benefits of your identity.
