EXHORTATION through the BOOK of LIFE

Scripture to ponder on

“Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the devil, as a roaring lion, doth walk about, seeking whom he may swallow up,”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭YLT98‬‬

DO NOT BE FRIGHTENED BY

THE SOUND OF THE TOOTHLESS LION!

Isn't it interesting in the passage above that the devil must seek those he can devour? This means he cannot devour everyone. Don't surrender your authority to him and become one of those he can devour! Also, have you noticed that he prowls around like “a roaring lion”? I asked the Lord why the devil prowls around like a roaring lion and not like some other creature. He led me to Proverbs 19:12, which says, “The king’s anger is like the roar of a lion.”

The devil is an imposter who prowls around like a roaring lion because he imitates the King of kings, our Lord Jesus, the true Lion of Judah. He wants people to think that our King is full of anger and rage against us. He comes to us roaring with the voice of condemnation, accusation, and shame. Satan wants you to accept that you have failed God, and that He is not only disappointed in you but downright furious with you. Now, if you believe this about God, will you take refuge under His protection? Will you take your rightful place of authority, power, and strength? Of course not. In fact, you will run from God!

Christians who are under a cloud of condemnation will not pray Psalm 91, the prayer of protection. They feel unworthy of God's promises and, in fact, await God's punishment and judgment. This is exactly where the devil wants you to be. When you run from God, you run straight into the devil's trap. You abdicate your place of authority and your place of intimacy with God.

Beloved, you must know this: You are loved. God is not angry with you. In Christ, you can have the assurance that you are forgiven, loved, and righteous (see Ephesians 1:7, Romans 8:37, 2 Corinthians 5:21). The Lord Jesus took all your punishment on the cross so that today you can enjoy His undeserved and freely given favor. God sees you in Christ, who is completely spotless and blameless.

Based on your own actions, you are not entitled to His protection or provision. But because of what our Lord Jesus did for you on the cross, you can confidently approach His throne of grace (see Hebrews 4:16). Because of what He did, you are qualified to dwell in the secret place with the King of kings, where the false “roaring lion” has no power over you!

We submit this confirmation to you:

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for bearing my sins on Your body on the cross so that I may die to sin and live unto righteousness, by Your stripes I have been healed. Therefore, I command every sickness to leave my body now, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit who continually gives me life, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Jesus’ beloved !
