EXHORTATION through the BOOK of LIFE

Scripture to ponder on :

“for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭YLT98‬‬

CHRISTIAN REALITY #3

The greatest enemy of the Christian life is the flesh: what you hear, what you see, what you feel…and the Word of God clearly tells us, “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” Galatians 5:16-17

Why walk by the Spirit? “I have been crucified with Christ; and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

“The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.” John 6:63

Now let’s put this into practice with two Christians who go to church every day.

The first one wakes up in the morning with a pain: his senses tell him it’s… and he starts to panic and list the consequences of this symptom.

The second Christian has the same symptoms but doesn't panic and instantly recalls this verse to himself: “The Word of God says, ‘He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.’” (1 Peter 2:24). He then declares: “Lord Jesus, I thank You for bearing my sins on Your body on the tree so that I might die to sin and live for righteousness. By Your stripes I have been healed, therefore I command this pain to leave my body in the name of Jesus.” And as needed, he repeats the same prayer without, however, nullifying it with his words.

You will notice that the second Christian walks according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh.

Jesus’ beloved !
