EXHORTATION through the BOOK of LIFE
Scripture to ponder on:
“for there shall be a season when the sound teaching they will not suffer, but according to their own desires to themselves they shall heap up teachers — itching in the hearing,”
2 Timothy 4:3 YLT98
AVOID UNPLEASANT SUBJECTS 🤫
For a church or community that aspires to grow in the wisdom of God, it is important to give a right teaching. So that nothing is hidden from everyone's eyes. Whether it's money, sexuality, etc., we must teach according to the Word of God. If God hate sin and love sinners, we must do the same with the same love that God shows with the fisherman. If God speaks of the members of the body of Christ, we must also speak of them. Our mission, as a church, is not to avoid subjects that might displease.
He who does not do so cares about the opinion of men and ignores what God declares. But the Word of God is clear: is it the favor of men I seek or that of God? (Galatians 1:10). God's wisdom is available for you 24/7. There is no taboo subject for God (Acts 20:27). Let wisdom guide you if you want to be faithful to the Word. Thus, we will be able, in our families, our colleagues, our friends, to tell them when they are walking on a wide and diverted path rather than telling them that everything is fine and validate everything they do.
Matthew 7:13 declares "Enter through the narrow door. For wide is the door, spacious is the path that leads to perdition, and there are many who enter through it." Ask yourself if you have to abstain and let the lost get lost, for the simple reason that your words can upset? Of course you have to talk but with love. A person who feels loved will more easily accept the words of the truth and on the contrary, he will not feel judged and condemned. So do it, but with love, respect and delicacy.
Why are some subjects annoying? Because the one who hears the word knows that he is on the wrong track and refuses to turn away from it. Repentance is a subject that angers in the church. Because man prefers to rebel. Yet it is the way of salvation and wisdom. Your responsibility is not to say what pleases but to announce the Word (of God). Examine in your church if what is taught comes from a man or is it simply what God says through the Bible that is preached (Acts 17:11).
