EXHORTATION through the BOOK OF LIFE
Scripture to on :
“And the Lord said, “My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever, because they are corrupt. Their days will be 120 years.””
Genesis 6:3 CSB
AGEING IS THE RESULT OF DISOBEDIENCE
The word of God declares, “He satisfies you with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle.”
Psalms 103:5 CSB“This Psalm is an invitation to put to death your flesh and live according to the Spirit of God who lives in you (Galatians 5:19-21). And to strengthen their ageing, many Christians live according to Psalm 90 of Moses instead of Psalm 91 of David, who triumphed because of his dependence on the Lord God, in all the battles of his life. The only battle in which he succumbed was that of his flesh, which was not submitted to God, and we know the story (2 Samuel 11 and 12).
Today's verse comes from the period in which Satan's dominion drove people to commit heinous acts (Genesis 6:5) and even after the flood (Genesis 11:1-9). For they were dominated by their own minds. And the Spirit of God could bear it no longer and ceased communicating with man, and began to seek those mentioned in Hebrews 11. In today's verse, there is mention of resistance, which means the refusal to submit to the Spirit of God. Thus, by his own efforts, man cannot stop the degeneration of his body (Psalm 90:10). You and I are new creations, thanks to the divine exchange: we died with Jesus through our baptism and were resurrected by the glory of the Father (John 1:12 / Colossians 2:12 / Romans 6:4), and the Father has given us the Spirit of His Son (Galatians 4:6 / 1 John 3:24). Thus, we are no longer children of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2 / Colossians 3:6-7) but sons and daughters of the Father, filled with the Holy Spirit. To this day, your body is a victim of the words that come out of your mouth; stop conforming to this world (1 John 2:15-16). It is not too late, for our Father is merciful, and the Holy Spirit is available to teach you and rebuild your body (Jude 20). Psalm 91 concludes with the satisfaction of a long life.
