Activate the Holy Spirit for Exploits

Verse to Meditate On:

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬https://bible.com/bible/1/jos.1.8.KJVRead on Bible.com

1. The Secret to the Conquest

After the death of Moses, Joshua received the heavy responsibility of leading the people into the Promised Land. The Lord gave him the execution plan written in the book of the law, along with a specific command: to keep what was written in it constantly on his lips and to meditate on its contents day and night.

God made him this promise:

“Every place on which the sole of your foot shall tread, I have given to you, as I said to Moses... As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:3, 5

Joshua’s ultimate guarantee was the active presence of the Lord with him.

2. The Word and the Holy Spirit

We know that God is Spirit:

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” 2 Corinthians 3:17

In our verse for today, notice how the mouth is linked to meditation, much like an animal chewing the cud to extract all its nourishment. With the book of the law constantly before his eyes, Joshua read it, and his ears heard it. Then, by meditating—or "ruminating "—on what he had read, he received the strategies for each conquest from the Spirit of God in communion with his own spirit.

3. It’s Your Turn to Take Action!

Child of God, are you living out the inheritance that our Lord—who has become for you Wisdom, Righteousness, Holiness, and Redemption—paid for you?

Here is a practical exercise to activate this same dynamic in your life:

Go into the Word (your testament), find a verse that addresses your current situation, and write it down on a card.

Read it out loud so your ears can hear it.

Repeat it at least 5 times throughout the day and pray in tongues, allowing the verse to deeply penetrate your understanding.

By doing this, you will have success in all your endeavors, just like Joshua. You permanently have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you, and this spiritual discipline will strengthen your inner man. In turn, your inner man will take control of your soul and body, and you will experience the full blessings of your true identity in Christ.

Jesus’ beloved!
